Too many cute things have popped out of Noah's mouth lately - I just couldn't pass it up! He's so wonderful with his manners and "I love you"s already. Now comes the the cuter, more personal things that are from the heart. For example, at the beginning of this week he was having a terrible time staying asleep. I guess I took for granted his wonderful habit of sleeping through the night. Needless to say, for both of our sakes he wound up in my bed a few mornings. One of those mornings, as I was getting ready for work, he was munching on some grapes and a pancake on my bed while watching Oswald. I had come out of the bathroom after ironing my hair and he said to me, "Mama... handsome... the hair." It was so sweet, I melted on the spot. He's only ever heard me say handsome because I was referencing him, but the message was still clear - and it melted my heart.
On a sillier note, we were climbing the stairs to get ready for bed tonight and he was giving me some helpful instructions: "Climb stairs... a careful...don't fall...hurt...and crying... make a eyes sad." It was difficult not to laugh at this last bit. The creative ways toddlers explore language as they're learning is just so endearing.
